Amanda Gail Walters

Amanda Gail Walters, 71, received her heavenly wings on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1954, and was a lifelong resident of Panama City. Gail graduated from Bay High School and was Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Walters; brothers, Steve and Kenny Walters; grandparents, Verna Newsome Dortch and Eddie B. Newsome; and several special aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving mother, Laverne Walters; sister, Pam Kirkland and her husband, Eric; daughter, Amber Brown; son, Lenny Gately; sister-in-law, Donna Walters; two grandchildren, Archer and Bowie Brown; a very special friend, Vera Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Gail retired from JCPenney after more than 20 years of dedicated service, and her coworkers held a special place in her heart. She treasured time spent with her family and friends, making memories that will never be forgotten. Some of her favorite times were traveling to Virginia with her Auntie Betty, going on cruises and trips to the mountains with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Gail touched the lives of everyone around her and was loved by many. She will be deeply missed. As Gail would say, "This is not goodbye, it's until I see you again."
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Gail's Life will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Nick Barron officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Double Pond Cemetery, 1705 Pioneer Road, Wausau, FL.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Newsome, Sam Dortch, Nick Blankenship, Kyle Middlemass, John Corbin, Ron McElvain, Brynn Peairs, and Steve Batchelor.
