Ambrose Myint Htu, a beloved father, grandfather, and dedicated former educator, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at the age of 91. His life, marked by integrity, wisdom, and a quiet dedication to learning, leaves a lasting legacy for all who knew him.

Born on June 3, 1934, in the Ayeyarwady Delta region of Myanmar, Myint Htu was a man of remarkable character. He began his career as a respected tutor in the Economics Department at the Institute of Economics, Rangoon, where he was known for his thoughtful guidance, intellectual curiosity, and cigar-smoking, which he had not given up at the time. His professional journey later led him into the field of Foreign Economic Relations alongside a cherished mentor.

While his professional life was distinguished, Myint Htu's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was the devoted husband of San Yee for more than 60 years and a loving father to his five children: Tha Htu, Mya Mya, Yee Tin, Aung Gyi, and Thein Tun Aung. As a grandfather, he was a source of endless support and gentle humor. His wisdom, shared through quiet moments and thoughtful conversations, was a constant guide for his family.

Myint Htu’s legacy extends far beyond his professional life. He was a pillar of strength, a source of unconditional love, and a true teacher in every sense of the word. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the life lessons he imparted and the unwavering love he gave.

Ambrose Myint Htu is survived by his wife, his five children and their spouses, and his beloved grandchildren.

An offering to Buddhist Monastery was held to honor his life and memory.
