Our Sweetheart, Amee Caroline Humpherys, 38, of Providence Utah, passed away long before her time on April 24, 2025. Born on September 3, 1986 in Aurora Colorado, Amee came into this world an angel. Diagnosed with an intellectual disability and autism, she had her work cut out for her. Those who met Amee couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She touched the lives of so many with her genuinely quirky ways. She had a love of scrapbooks, and vacuums. She was a seasoned photographer and always had to have her camera on her. Amee had impeccable style which included farmer overalls, fancy hats and pretties in her hair.
She loved to read and was excellent with numbers. She spent hours adding up the numbers in a telephone book on her adding machine. Whenever she met someone new, she would ask them what their name was, when their birthday was and what day their garbage day was. Even years later if she met that person again, she could repeat that information. You could ask her when someone's birthday was and she could immediately answer, or you could ask her whose birthday it was today and she would rattle off all the names of people who had birthdays on that day. Her speech didn't come in until she was eight years old. From that point on, throughout the rest of her life, we could never get her to stop. Her mother, Dauna, spent 31 years providing round the clock care for her, which at times was extremely demanding and exhausting.
Amee's life was full of giggles, laughing, and always making others laugh at her silly behavior. She would laugh along with them. For her birthday, she always wanted a cowboy with chest hair. She cherished the simple things of life, CTR rings, dolls and necklaces. Her one big desire in life was to sometime wear braces.
She now, no longer suffers and no longer cries. She has entered into the presence of our Heavenly Father as an unblemished child. As a teen, she was asked by her Bishop what she thought of Jesus Christ, she simply answered, "I believe". Born in the covenant, her family knows that in the very near future, we shall all embrace again.
Amee is survived by her parents, Richard and Dauna Humpherys, her siblings, Heather Savage (Roy), and their five children, Heidi Law, (Jason) and their two children, Charles Humpherys (Kristen) and their five children, Angela Anderson (Ben) and their three children, Jessica Goonan (Dave), James Humpherys and Chelsea Hamblin (Jake) and their two children, and her grandmother Joan Humpherys.
Amee was preceded in death by her grandfather, Boyd Humpherys and her grandparents Russell and Norma Seamons.
