In Loving Memory
Amelia Arvizu Avalos
August 16, 1937 – May 23, 2025
On May 23, 2025, our beloved mother, Amelia Arvizu Avalos, was called home to be with the Lord. She lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to our Lord and Savior and guided by the teachings of the Holy Bible.
Mom was a woman of unwavering belief, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of her life. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promise of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and an unyielding trust in God’s plan.
As a mother, she raised her children in the ways of the Lord, teaching to love, to serve, and to trust in Him always. She found comfort in verses such as 2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” She now rests in the arms of the Savior, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Sylvia Avalos (Rafael) and Patricia Bertoldo (Bobby); son Robert Joseph Avalos (Catheryn), 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, sisters, Chila Jeffery, Socorro Armendariz; brothers Tony Arvizu and Ruben Arvizu, including many nieces and nephews. She is also remembered by a host of dear friends from her church community.
Mom is reunited in Heaven with her parents Jesus and Evangelina Arvizu, husband Robert (Bobby), 3 infant children, daughters Christine Salas and Catherine Bertoldo: sisters Ana Sanchez, Amparo Arvizu and brother Arturo Arvizu.
While we grieve her passing, we find solace in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in God’s eternal kingdom.
A celebration of life will be held at Getz Funeral Home on May 30, 2025, at 2:30 pm, where we will gather to honor her memory and rejoice in the promise of everlasting life. if you are unable to attend please join us online.
