Francisco "Frank" Avalos, 65, of Oceanside, California, passed away on February 10,
2026.
He was born on December 1, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, to Maria Avalos. He joined
the United States Marine Corps and served honorably for many years, earning multiple
awards and commendations. After retiring from active duty in 1999, he continued his
career in Government Service at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego for 14
additional years.
In 1982, he married Lisa Riechers, and together they built a family. Frank was a
dedicated father and grandfather who valued time spent with his children and
grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Adam, Jason, Kierstin, and Michael; his son-in-law,
Adrian; his daughter-in-law, Mariah; his grandchildren, Kamila, Adrian, and Luke; and
his sister, Virginia.
Services with full military honors will be held on March 2, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Miramar
National Cemetery.
