Amalia Lopez Gonzalez, born on February 22, 1936, in Crystal City, Texas, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Pearsall, Texas. Amalia left this world surrounded by her loving family, marking the end of a remarkable life dedicated to her loved ones and community.
Amalia was a cherished daughter of Jose Antonio Gonzalez and Tomacita Lopez Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Jose Alvarez and Jimmy Rodriguez Jr., and her devoted siblings, sister Diamantina Garcia and brother Jose Antonio Jr. She is also preceded in death by Joe Gonzalez, Mario Garcia , Ramon Garcia and Joe Garcia Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who remain.
In her later years, Amelia found joy and fulfillment in her family, particularly through her daughter, Marie G. Rendon and son-in-law Edward Rendon. She took great pride in her nieces, nephew and cousins, whom she lovingly raised as her own children: Oscar Garcia Jr. and his wife Magda, Norma Rosales and her husband Reynaldo, and Rosario Navarro and her husband Brijido, Toby Gonzalez, Laticia Alirez and David Olmos.
Amalia was not only a mother and aunt but also a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren: Stephanie Borrego and her husband Steven Borrego, Amber Rendon, Andrew Rendon and his wife Amberly Rendon, Kimberly Telles and her husband Jeremy Telles, and Lisa Rendon. She embraced her role as a grandmother with grace, showering her grandchildren with love and support. Additionally, Amelia was blessed with the joy of 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brightened her life and will carry her legacy forward.
Amalia Lopez Gonzalez will be remembered not only for her deep love for her family but also for her resilience, kindness, and unwavering spirit. She touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A visitation for Amalia Will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida starting at 9am. Prayer service will be held at 11am. Services will conclude at the church.
