David Alan Donaldson

David A. Donaldson, 78 of Canal Fulton, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. He was born January 21, 1948 in Pearsall, TX to the late Boyd Donaldson and Eileen (Gay) Conley and was a proud US Navy veteran having served during Vietnam. Dave was a Vice President at First Merit Bank and retired after 33 years of service.

Dave had a passion for playing guitar and was a member of the band Livewyre. He was also a reading enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Bolan. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bonnie (Ash) Donaldson; children, Amy (John) Bolan and Kevin (Angie) Donaldson; stepson, Jason (Sara Crimi) Shepherd; grandchildren, Shaun (Megan) Bolan, Matt (Mady) Bolan, Luke Donaldson, Levi Donaldson and Annabelle Shepherd; great-granddaughters, Penelope and Scarlett.

Visitation will be held SUNDAY, March 22, 2026, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton with a funeral ceremony to follow at 4pm. Burial Monday, March 23, 2026, 1:15pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH. Please meet at the cemetery by 1:00pm.
