"Together Again"
On March 13, 2026, Gladys Joann Nicolard, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born in Akron, OH to the late Minnie Bell and William Nathan Klepper. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Canal Fulton and faithfully attended Towpath Family Church of the Nazarene. She is preceded in death by the love of her life of 72 years, Louis Nicolard, her infant son Louis Samuel Nicolard, granddaughter Stephanie Houser, grandson Eddie Watson, and son-in-law Bill Rott.
She is survived by her loving children Louisa "Cricket" Rott, Pamela Nicolard, Machelle (Jim) Okey, Louis "Sam" (Diana) Nicolard. Her grandchildren Doug "Jersey" (Betty) Nicolardi, Connie (Jeff) Lacap, Jason Moore, Justin (Angie) Moore, Naomi (Dana) Smith, Dominic Watson, Jason (Anna) Straight, Janelle (Justin) Harris, Josh (Stephanie) Straight, Tiffany Nicolard, and Samuel (Jessica) Nicolard. She had 24 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Gladys will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She never knew a stranger and always welcomed anyone into her home and her family. She loved hosting family picnics and gatherings where her orneriness was always present. She truly loved kids and they loved her, they gravitated to her. She will be greatly missed by her church family who she loved dearly, especially the Tuesday Night Ladies Night ladies.
A special thank you to palliative care, hospice, and her caretakers at Chapel Hill Nursing Home.
We will all miss Gladys dearly, but rejoice in knowing that we'll see her again! Until then, thank you Gladys, Mom, Grandma for loving us all so well.
Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY, March 20, 2026, 12:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, with Rev. Gordon Runyon officiating. Visitation Thursday, March 19, 2026, 5pm to 7pm and also one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
