Amelia Losolla-Lara, age 82, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Amelia was born on August 19, 1943, in Rocksprings, Texas. She was a remarkable woman known for her warm spirit and open heart, welcoming everyone she met as family. Amelia had a deep love for cooking, especially making her homemade salsa, which she proudly shared with those she loved. She also enjoyed shopping and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and her animals.
Amelia is survived by her children: Jessie Losolla (Robin), Lorenzo Losolla, Bobby Losolla (Theresa), Anna Rodriguez (Rene), and Emma Acuna (Gilbert). She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, her sister Teresa Zepeda (Crecensio), and her brother Julian Jimenez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Santiaga Jimenez; her siblings Pedro "Pete" Jimenez, Jose Jimenez, Juan Jimenez, Rafael Jimenez Jr., and Cipiana Garcia; her daughter Sylvia O’Mally; daughter-in-law Linda Losolla and her spouses, Isabel Joe Losolla and Antonio Lara.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin TX, 78621.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 W. 11th St., Elgin TX, 78621. Interment to immediately follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery, 305 Ochoa St, Elgin, TX 78621.
