Amelia "Millie" Manes

1940 - 2025

Amelia "Millie" Manes of Bolivar passed away with family at her side. She was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Dade County to Clyde and Mollie (Repp) Stockton. She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Manes, Sept. 7, 1958, and to this union two sons were born. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bolivar, where she was very active in the church and her community. She was saved at an early age. Millie worked at the Garment Factory until it closed. She returned to school and received her GED and a degree in Business at Rutledge College in Springfield.
She opened her own business, "Millie's Ultra Fitness." She continued to sew and worked on her quilting. She worked many, many hours in her flower gardens, with not a weed for miles!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mollie Stockton; her husband, Bob; brother Ivan, and brother Adren Stockton.
Millie is survived by her sons, Rusty and wife Pam of Springfield, and Robin and wife Mandy of Bolivar, five grandchildren, Molly and husband Russ Batten, Morrisville, Corey Manes, Springfield, Meleah and Shane Johnson, Bolivar, Robie and Tracey Manes, Bolivar, Tisha and Justin Denson, Bolivar; 14 great-grandchildren, Dallas, May, Micah, Emberly, Melisha, Mariah, Shane, Ryver, Remi, Shawna, Julieanna, Marieanna, Jase and Millieanna, her sister-in-law, Cindy Stockton, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as several other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Millie is Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar. A Visitation is Wednesday, May 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel, Bolivar.
