Amelia M. Marhefka

1935 - 2025

Amelia M. Marhefka, 90, of Vandergrift, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Concordia of Fox Chapel, Cheswick. Born Feb. 27, 1935, in Vandergrift, she is the daughter of the late Antonio and Angelica Repepi Calabro. Amelia had been employed by Ash's Shoe Store in Vandergrift and also General Telephone as an operator for 30 years. She was a member of the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift, where she was involved with the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed line dancing, bowling, water aerobics, and working the spaghetti dinners at the church. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Marhefka of Vandergrift; her son, John Marhefka Jr. (Julie), of Lower Burrell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters, Antonette Trisoline, Catherine Goedicke, Carmela McLaughlin, and Dominica Sack. At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation, services were private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DUNMIRE KERR AND ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
