Amelia White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fitzgerald-Sommer Funeral Home - Yardley on Feb. 3, 2026.
Amelia "Molly" White of Yardley, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2026, at the age of 101.

Born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania on May 19, 1924, to Philomena and Tony Flamino, Amelia grew up surrounded by many friends and a large extended family. She shared a special bond with her beloved grandmother, Amalia, for whom she was named - a connection she cherished throughout her life.

As a young woman, she joined the workforce in Philadelphia at the Reading Railroad offices, where she met her future husband, Tom. He courted her relentlessly until she agreed to marry him, beginning a devoted partnership that would span decades. They began their life together in Philadelphia and went on to build a large and loving family of nine children. Over the years, their journey took them around the country, including Detroit, Chicago, and New York, before eventually settling back close to home in Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Known to many as Molly, she was a loving and caring person, deeply loved by her friends and family, and known for her strength and determination. When she was widowed 40 years ago with children still at home, she took on the role of single parent with courage and resolve. She raised her own children and helped raise her grandchildren as well, offering steady guidance, love, and support across generations. She was also deeply loved by her in-laws and maintained close relationships across her extended family.

Molly loved the beach, and to her, there was no better feeling than the sand between her toes. She spent summers in Ocean City, New Jersey, as a girl and vacationed with her family "down the shore" whenever they could. It was truly her happy place.

She is survived by eight of her children: Kathleen White Savas (Andrew), Thomas White Jr., Claire White Biehl (the late Clifton), Dennis White (Diane), Mark White (Jen), Charles White (Carmine), Joseph White (James), and Rachel White-Ferrone (Joseph); her sister, Rose of Long Beach, California; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and more than 35 nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom White, and her daughter, Therese White Camacho.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:30am at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church 999 Reading Avenue Yardley, Pennsylvania 19067. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Poor Clare Monastery, 1271 Langhorne Newtown Rd, Langhorne, PA 19047.

Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
