Amie Scuderi (nee Nehring) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 29, 2025.

Amie Christine Scuderi was born on July 23, 1974, in Philadelphia. She passed away on August 17, 2025, at Regional Hospital of Scranton following a cardiac arrest on August 14, 2025. She was at peace and surrounded by care.

Amie was the youngest of seven siblings, born to Barbara (nee Christensen) and Gerald Nehring. Her father affectionately called her "Lil Sis" or simply "Sister." True to her name, which means "friend," Amie brought joy and laughter to her family from the very beginning.

Known for her wit and adventurous spirit, Amie was clever and always ready for fun, spending much of her youth with close friends Ruth Cannon, Zoey, and Gabrielle Cianfrani. She entered adulthood quickly after meeting her first husband, Andy Najibi, with whom she built a beautiful home and welcomed three wonderful children: Emma Najibi, Natalie Najibi, and Faris Najibi. She loved nature and gardening and could often be seen in her yard with her children playing close by. Amie had a remarkable gift for nurturing her young children, offering them the unconditional care she herself yearned for. In those moments, her kindest self shone through.

As her children grew, Amie also grew into an outspoken adult. Early on she faced ongoing health challenges and personal struggles. Her life was marked by complexity, effort and perseverance. Yet, even in tough times, she left an indelible mark-Amie will be remembered for the joy she brought, the playful chaos she created, and her true gentle bohemian spirit.

Amie maintained a lifelong connection with second husband, Michael Scuderi. Their bond, rooted in childhood, endured for years. They were devoted friends.

Amie is survived by her five sisters: Patricia Lawinger, Arlene Janisheck (husband James, niece Julie Deely, nephew James Janisheck), Jacqueline Nehring, Barbara Shulz husband Richard, nephew William Schulz), and Geraldine Nehring. Amie is predeceased by her beloved big brother, Gerald Nehring (9/4/1971 - 4/4/2024).

A private scattering of Amie's ashes will be held by her close family members. No public service or memorial is planned.

I am so sad to hear about Amie´s passing after having lost Jerry. They were both so young. Though I haven´t seen my cousins in many, many years , they all were a very significant part of my childhood and youth. Amie and Jerry were actually the last ones I was able to visit with on a trip back east and I remember good times.
My condolences to the rest of you and prayers for good health and happiness in the coming years. All my love, Kathleen
