Amparo “Coco” Mazon, 79, of Citrus Springs Florida, peacefully departed to join our Lord in paradise on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 28, 1946, in Puerto Giraldo, Colombia, Coco was the beloved 9th daughter of the late Justiniano and Mercedes Barraza. She emigrated to the state of Connecticut USA with her four children in the spring of 1984.
Coco’s greatest joy was her abundant family, where she was admired and revered for her unyielding dedication to her grandchildren. In retirement, she served at local churches in Jersey City, New Jersey and, finally, in Dunnellon, Florida. Coco’s undeniable ability to form long lasting & meaningful friendships was a staple of her fruitful social life. Her gracious hospitality was a testament to her love of friends and family.
Amparo is survived by her husband, Humberto Mazon; children, Ricardo, Eduardo, Alvaro, and Iriana Lorduy; and grandchildren (Cocos), Charlise, Adrian, Eduardo, Erick, Andres, Juan Carlos, Rebecca, Daniel, Alvaro David, Angelica, Josealberto “Pooky”, Elian, Elaina, Emiliana, and Julian; her great grandchildren, Aydin, Enzo, Sebastian, Andrew, Sofiya, Adriansito, Leonidas, Calliope, Caspian, Peanut, and the many others pending. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Iglesia Palabra Fiel y Verdadera, in Dunnellon, FL United States.
