Amy Bernice Barbe, 61, of Greensboro, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. Born on February 23, 1964, in Fulton, New York, she was the daughter of the late Mervin L. and Carolyn Kay (Needham) Barbe.
Amy was a graduate of Mapletown High School, Class of 1982. Over the years, Amy applied her skills in various roles, including working as a project manager at Scif Constructors, LLC., and a field office manager at Harvey Cleary Builders. She cherished her time spent working alongside her father as a manager at the Village Inn, as a finish carpenter at Mervin Barbe Finish Carpentry, and with her daughter at Lavern's Restaurant. In more recent years, she desired a slower pace, and became a notary public. Having lived in New York, West Virginia, Maryland, and many places in between, Amy eventually decided to come back home to Pennsylvania.
In her youth, she was an active member of 4-H. She had a love for horses. As a young girl, she competed in shows, barrel races, and pole races atop her steadfast and beloved horse, Dusty. She enjoyed woodworking and furniture restoration. Amy was a member of the Cumberland Township American Legion Auxiliary Post 400. She enjoyed time spent with her friends and frequenting her favorite local spots.
Surviving are her daughter, Kaitlyn Crockard (Brian) of Jefferson; granddaughters, Karlee and Emilee Crockard; sister, Vanessa Routzahn (Wes) of Smithsburg, Md.; niece and nephew, Audrey and Sawyer Routzahn, and her faithful canine companion, Daisy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Craig L. Barbe.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, on April 1, 2026. at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels. A Poppy Service will be conducted by the Cumberland Township American Legion Auxiliary Post 400. at 7:00 P.M.
