Amy Clark, 52, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with illness.

She was born on May 15, 1973, in Garland, Texas, to Sue Embry and Dennis Dickerson. She was also deeply loved and supported by her stepfather, Scott Embry. On July 7, 2007, Amy married Jason Clark, and together they built a beautiful life centered around their children, family, and faith in Christ.

Amy devoted 23 years of her life to teaching with Garland Independent School District, where she found her true calling in education. Leading the Dyslexia Program became her greatest passion, and through her dedication she impacted countless students, parents, and colleagues. Her legacy within the district is one of compassion, excellence, and unwavering commitment to helping others reach their potential.

Beyond her career, Amy was a devoted mother to her daughter Chloe and a loving stepmother to Christian, who were the joy and pride of her life. She poured her heart into raising them, teaching compassion, resilience, and the importance of faith. She also treasured time with her extended family and many friends, who knew her for her generosity, integrity, and her sincere passion for doing the right thing, no matter the consequences.

A woman of deep faith, Amy trusted in God's promises, finding peace in His Word, especially in Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Amy is survived by her husband Jason; daughter Chloe; stepson Christian; her parents, Sue Embry and Dennis Dickerson; her stepfather, Scott Embry; her stepmother, Patsy Dickerson; her sister, Amanda Rocha, and husband John; her stepbrothers and stepsisters; her sister-in-law, Brenda Bouldin, and husband Cory; as well as her nieces, nephews, countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and many beloved relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, along with many aunts and uncles who bravely faced Huntington's disease and who welcomed her into Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her son, Cameron, whom she and Jason never had the chance to meet but who remains forever in their hearts.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospice staff who cared for Amy with compassion during her final days.

Contributions can be made in Amy's memory to Scottish Rite for Children (https://scottishrite.org). Amy was deeply touched by their work through the Dyslexia Program, which shaped her career in education, and the organization also had a profound impact on her family when her stepson Christian was a patient at Scottish Rite Hospital.

Above all, Amy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and stepmother, cherished daughter, sister, stepsister, aunt, and friend, a passionate teacher, and a faithful servant of Christ whose strength and spirit touched all who knew her.
