Amy D. Layton, 46 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 18, 2025, after battling cirrhosis due to celiac disease for several years.
Amy was born on February 6, 1979, in Zanesville. She is the daughter of Regina D. (Bonifant) Sims and the late Arthur D. Bickford. Amy held management positions in several food service establishments throughout her career. She was known for her kindness and charismatic personality, always able to make friends wherever she went. She never made an enemy. Above all, Amy’s greatest joy in life came from her family—her children and grandchildren were the light of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
In addition to her mother, Amy is survived by her children, Matthew (Akira) Beach, Kortnae Beach, and Nathan Beach; her husband: James Layton; her bonus children, Tairan Layton, Jimmy Layton, Sawyer Layton, her daughter-in-law, Chloee Starkey-Beach; her grandchildren, Kohan Beach, Kamrie Brown, Livy Beach, Cashton Whitehouse, Kaizlee Whitehouse, Emma Beach, Eastyn Beach, and Eean Beach; her maternal grandmother, Dolores Bonifant; her sisters, Lori (Jerry) Wickham and Tena Bickford; her half-sister, Maggie Barry; her sisters-in-law, Shardai and Heather Layton; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
In addition to her father, Amy is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jerrod K. Beach, who passed away on April 5, 2019; and her step-father, Floyd Sims, who loved her like his own daughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Amy’s honor to help cover funeral expenses to the following link or directly to the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734.
