Amy Elizabeth (McQuillan) Goes, 65, of North Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, after a long illness. Amy was born in New Bedford. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Patricia (Hilton) McQuillan.
Amy was formerly employed by Verizon as a telephone operator for over 30 years before her retirement.
Amy was a talented artist. She loved to paint, especially water scenes. She shared her passion for art with her son and her grandchildren.
Amy also loved shopping, especially for home decor and jewelry. She loved all things shiny and sparkly. She was also an avid cook, preparing new recipes which she saw on her favorite cooking shows.
Amy will be remembered for her outgoing personality. She loved to laugh, and never hesitated to tell anyone how much she loved them.
Amy loved her family fiercely. She is survived by her daughter, Meghan Goes and her partner, Jamison Fernandes of North Dartmouth; her son, Ryan, of New Bedford; her sister, Jane Gill and her husband, Michael, of Bristol, Rhode Island; three grandchildren, Layla Goes, Elayna Fernandes, and Tyler Fernandes, all of whom she thoroughly adored. She is also survived by nieces and nephew, Melissa Rogers, Erin Gill, Ashley Curvelo, Sean Gill, and Brianna McQuillan. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David McQuillan.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 11 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 14th from 4-8 PM.
