Amy (Burton) Leeper, 59, passed away at home in the arms of her loving husband Tim, with her beloved pets by her side, on April 29, 2022. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Iles Dunn's Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11am, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the service.
Amy was born August 27, 1962 in Sheldon, Iowa to parents, Stanley and Marian Brower. She graduated from Sheldon High School in 1981. Following high school, she attended Iowa Central Community College and then graduated from the Mercy EMS Program in Des Moines. She worked as a paramedic for MidWest Ambulance, Boone County Hospital and later Life Flight at Iowa Methodist Hospital. She continued her education at Des Moines University, where she earned her Physician's Assistant Degree. She continued working at Iowa Methodist in the Emergency Department until 12 years ago, when she joined the Cardiology Department at UnityPoint Health, where she practiced until her illness in January 2022.
Amy met her soul mate, Tim Leeper, at work, then a few days later, July 14, 2004, went on their first concert date. Their love of rock music and travel strengthened their bond, culminating with their wedding 17 years, 7 months and 6 days later on February 20, 2022.
Amy always had an intense love for all animals, especially her canine and feline fur babies. She enjoyed spending time with friends, and collecting antiques and music memorabilia.
Amy is survived by her husband, Tim; her siblings, Doug (Marsha) Brower and Nancy (John) Suhreptz; nephews, Neal Brower, Nathan Brower, Paul Suhreptz and Chad Leeper; niece, Bethany Kreisler; brothers-in-law, Dave (Diana) Leeper and Mark (Darlene) Leeper; Tim's parents, Shirley Herrick and Dale Leeper, and many friends and colleagues.
