Amy Samsel Obituary
Amy L. Samsel, 62, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. Amy was born on March 14, 1963 in Marysville, Kansas. The daughter of Eldon J.and Jeannette A. (Newman) Zimmerman.
Amy attended grade school in Marysville, Blue Rapids, and Manhattan, Kansas. She also attended Riley County High School. Amy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Amy also worked doing multiple other jobs.
On March 10, 1984, Amy married Douglas Samsel with whom she had two children with. They later divorced.
Amy enjoyed doing fill-in puzzles, dot-to-dots, spending time with her pets and collecting owls.
Amy is preceded in death by her brother EJ (Eldon Jacob), her dad Eldon Zimmerman, and her grandparents Lloyd and Ardith (Sarah) Newman.
Amy is survived by her daughter's Ashley Grobe (Levi Parker), Manhattan, Kansas and Sarah (Matt) Hare, Ogdensburg, New York, her mother Jeannette Toburen, her sister Tina (Greg) Kretz and their two daughters Cassidy and Kylie, Wamego, Kansas, brother Stephen Zimmerman, St. George, Kansas and his two children Katie and Ryan Zimmerman, her aunt Sharon, Blue Rapids, Kansas, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many cousins and friends.
A celebration of Amy's life will be held on Saturday March 7th at 2 pm at Colonial Gardens Community Center, 3050 Tuttle Creek Blvd., Manhattan, Kansas.
