Amy Dempsey Speights

Amy Dempsey Speights, 35, passed away on September 23, 2025. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30 at Whitehall Church with Bro. Mike Dowd officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Whitehall Cemetery. Amy was born June 22, 1990, to Martha and John Dempsey. After spending years as a dedicated stay-at-home mom, she recently started working as a psych tech at the Specialized Treatment Facility in Gulfport, where she helped teach and supervise teens. Amy enjoyed crocheting, reading, music, and art, and could often be found soaking up the sun by the pool. Holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Mardi Gras were her favorites-she loved dressing up, going to parades, and celebrating with her family. Her biggest joy, though, was spending time with her girls and the people she loved most, her family. Amy and her husband, Christopher Speights, have been together since 2009, building a life filled with a lot of sweet memories. Together they raised three beautiful daughters: Marilyn Harper Speights (12), Evelyn Blair Speights (5), and Cassidy Mae Speights (4). She also had three beloved dogs-Rip, Roux, and Feeny-who were very much part of the family. Amy is also survived by her siblings: Ian Dempsey (18), Addy Ladner (12), and Jack Ladner (9). Amy is preceded in death by her father, John Dempsey; her paternal grandparents, Noble and Grace Dempsey; and her aunt, Sara Dempsey Brown. Amy will be remembered for her kindness, her beautiful smile and eyes, and the way she made everyone feel loved. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Dempsey, Jason Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Dwight Dempsey, Lee Brown, Matthew Buck and Mark Verucchi. Following the service, family and friends are invited to visit with the family at the family home located at 425 Rural Dempsey Road in Louisville. Services are under the direction of Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
