Ana Lydia Maldonado Lopez, 90, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024. Ana was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on July 9, 1934, the daughter of José Maldonado Fuentes and Bruna Lopez Serrano. She was one of 9 children. In Puerto Rico, Ana worked as a Dietary Aide. Ana moved to Worcester, MA in 1997.
God blessed Ana with a long and healthy life. Ana was a woman of faith who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, exercising and solving word search problems. Ana was a loving, nurturing and giving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Ana will always be remembered for sharing her wisdom, knowledge and best advice to her loved ones.
Sadly, in addition to her parents Ana was predeceased by 7 siblings and two grandchildren, Hector Omar Diaz and Melissa Roman.
Ana is survived by her brother, Eliezer Maldonado Lopez. Her loving children, Lydia Esther Roman and her husband Edwin H. Diaz; Adelita Roman; Jose Manuel Roman and his wife Lizette Montalvo and Miguel Angel Roman and his wife Doris Acevedo. Her adored grandchildren: Lynnette, Omaris and Francisco J. Diaz; Pedro E. and Vanessa Torres; Ana M. and Jose G. Roman; Maria T. and Jose E. Roman. Eighteen great-grandchildren; Edwin X., Alexis G. Pacheco Diaz, Tatiana M. Mora, Jessenia M. Rodriguez, Rachel M. Colon, Adriana and Francisco J. Diaz, Camila N. Torres, Kenneth Hernandez, Alejandro, Valeria e Ian Ramirez; Anahia, Aleksander Morales, Liam and Kevin Roman and Valentina Malaret. In addition, Ana was blessed with 3 great-great grandchildren, Giselle L. Alves, Camila J. Pacheco and Lorenzo Martinez. As well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember the life of Ana on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 10:00am to 11:30am. Promptly at 11:30am a Funeral Service will begin. Interment will immediately follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
