Ana Rivas Obituary

Ana Celia passed away on September 8, 2025, at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California, surrounded by her husband, children, and loved ones. She had recently celebrated her 70th birthday and had called Modesto, CA home since 1976. A devoted Catholic, she was a faithful member of St. Stanislaus Parish.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, José Antonio Rivas; their children, Adriana Rivas, Raquel Rivas, Mayela Manganiello, and José Rivas; their grandchildren, Arlo Delgado Rivas, Stephen Manganiello, and Camila Manganiello; their son-in-law, Stephen Manganiello; as well as her two sisters and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, José Ma. Buenrostro Gálvez and Ana Ma. Negrete Cárdenas, and her sister, Amelia Buenrostro Negrete.

Ana dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker and also worked seasonally at Seneca for 19 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and competitive spirit. That same playful competitiveness carried into her daily life, always in good fun.

She loved the outdoors, traveling, sharing home cooked meals, and also very much enjoyed a nice meal with a view. At home, she took pride in tending her garden and maintaining a beautiful home, always filled with music in the background. Ana was full of energy and was always on the go. She enjoyed long, brisk walks and good luck to anyone attempting to keep up with her!

Ana was a wonderful listener who gave the best advice. She was witty, loving, caring, and unfailingly honest. Above all, she deeply loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her family will forever miss their beloved "Mama Ana" and "Ana-Ana," and her spark will be missed by all who knew her.
