Anajean Peterson, 97 of Winamac, passed away peacefully at 6:48 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Pulaski Healthcare Center in Winamac.
Born June 3, 1928 in Leiters Ford, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Bessie (Shidaker) Young.
On June 30, 1948 she married Dean Peterson. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2008.
She formerly was employed at Hart Schafner & Marx and Switches.
Anajean was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church and enjoyed bird watching, taking care of her flowers in her younger years, cooking, puzzles and puzzle books.
Survivors include her children, Vivian Peterson of Kewanna, Dwight Peterson (Venita) of Winamac and Don Peterson (Jovy) of Kewanna; grandchildren Daniel Peterson, James Peterson, Rendall Lawson, Joshua Lawson, Kori Peterson, Blayne Peterson, Jenny Peterson, Joemer Peterson and JeeAnne Peterson; and great-grandchildren, Quintin Peterson, Quest Peterson, Venita Peterson, AlmaRose Ward, Gabriel Lawson, Clay Lawson, Bo Lawson, Jaelynn Peterson, Aizek Peterson and Joemer Peterson, Jr.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Moon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant Hill Community Church, Lake Bruce.
