Anastasios Argiras

Manchester Anastasios "Tasos" Argiras resident of Manchester, NH born March 8, 1945 passed away on January 25, 2026 at his home in Athens, Greece. Born and raised in Agiasos on the Island of Lesvos, Greece he was the living son of the late Panagiotis and Despina Argiras.

Graduating from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece he then came to Boston to continue his studies. Soon after Tasos and wife Helen "Eleni" Argiras came to Manchester where Tasos began his career, settled in his community, and started a family. Tasos worked many years in various engineering and business capacities throughout New England. Upon retirement he split his time between Manchester NH, Greece, and world traveling with his beloved wife. Eventually they settled, splitting their time between the US and Greece.

Tasos was very knowledgeable and extremely patient. "Mr. Fix It" could repair or find a solution to any problem without fuss or complaint. Kind, loving and loyal, altruistic, very observant, and non-materialistic, a very simple man. Tasos loved his Tom Clancy books, coffee, homemade food, good company, dancing, skiing, and being in the sun at the beach where he could swim and catch a good nap.

A life long member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Manchester, Tasos relished devoting his time to the annual Glendi festival or the essential coffee and snacks after Sunday church service with the community friends he considered family.

Tasos is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Helen "Eleni Argiras; two sons Panos Argiras and wife Ashely of Chicago, IL; Stratos Argiras of Manchester, NH; a granddaughter whom he, loved, and adored, Eleni Kathryn Argiras of Bedford, NH; a sister Dr. Eriphili Argiras and husband Yiannis Symplis and niece Domina Symplis all of Athens, and other family throughout Greece.

This summer a service will take place at the church of his baptism. Tasos' ashes will then be spread throughout the rivers and mountains he played in as a youth. May Tasos's memory be eternal. Anastasios Argiras , NH -
