MASSENA – Anderson Hunter Cox, 81, of Randall Court, peacefully passed away Sunday morning, October 13, 2024 at his home.
Anderson was born on October 24, 1942 in Newport News, Virginia, the son of the late Gilbert and Winnie (Anderson) Cox. On November 2, 1959, he entered the US Navy, where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on November 1, 1982 as a Warrant Officer 04. Following his discharge, he started a fiber optics business, Bazon and Cox in Virginia Beach.
Anderson was a member the American Legion, Amvets Post #4, and the VFW Post # 1143 and was a volunteer driver for the local DAV. Anderson had a very generous and giving heart and spirit, who enjoyed collecting coins and fishing.
Anderson is survived by his wife, Monique; his daughter, Michelle (Bob) Fish of Michigan; a grandson, Dillon; his brother, Michael Sam Cox of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Gilbert and John Patrick Cox.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on October 24th, 2-4:00 PM. Military funeral honors will be rendered at 4:00 PM by his comrades from the VFW Rifle Squad.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to a local DAV organization.
