Andra Kay Bufkin (Fink), 78, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in
Moore, Oklahoma. Born on December 29, 1946, in Bristow, Oklahoma, Andra lived a life filled with love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Raised in Oklahoma City, Andra graduated from U.S. Grant High School and after many years as a stay-at-home mom went on to build a career as a bookkeeper for Loomis Armored Car Company. She poured her heart into her community and family. She served as a Junior Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, and Homeroom Mom, roles that reflected her nurturing spirit and commitment to those around her.
Andra met the love of her life, Johnnie Bufkin, on July 4, 1963. Their bond was immediate and enduring; they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage before his passing. Together they built a home rooted in faith and family-a legacy that continues through their daughters Julie Lewis (Leslie) and Jessica Bufkin-Rowell; sister Diane Gilson; brother Don Fink; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many others who were touched by Andra's warmth.
She also embraced chosen family with open arms. Vickey Grammont, Mary Mason, and Travis O'Daniel held special places in her heart as family by love rather than blood. Her beloved dogs Ruby, Sophie and Zoey were constant companions who brought her joy and comfort throughout the years.
Andra's passions were as vibrant as her personality. She had a deep appreciation for antiques and loved exploring car shows with Johnnie. She found joy in travel-especially trips to the mountains in their RV-and cherished time spent with family over coffee or during lively Bible studies with friends. A devoted Christian who converted to Messianic Judaism later in life, Andra's faith was central to everything she did. She loved reading scripture and sharing spiritual insights with those close to her.
Her hobbies reflected both creativity and curiosity: she adored elephants, action movies (especially anything starring Chuck Norris), baking and decorating cakes, listening to music (oldies and favorites like The Stray Cats & David Lee Roth) and curling up with a good book or one of her dogs for a cuddle.
To those who knew her best, Andra was sassy yet tender-hearted-a fierce defender of those she loved and the best mother anyone could ask for. Her favorite roles were "Mom" and "Mashy," titles she wore with pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Johnnie Bufkin; parents Pete Fink and Lorida Turley Hagstrom; and several cherished pets who no doubt greeted her at Heaven's gates.
1 Corinthians 15:42-44
It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.
The family will be handling & planning a celebration of life.
May the memory of Andra Kay Bufkin bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
