Andre William Ausbie, a man of boundless energy and an adventurous spirit, left this world too soon on November 8, 2024, at the age of 43, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Villard, Minnesota. Born on February 20, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, Andre's journey began as the beloved son of Doris Eaves and Jonathan Bates. He was raised in the Baptist faith. His early years were marked by a move to Wichita, Kansas, and later to Omaha, Nebraska, where he pursued his education, culminating in a graduation from Job Corp in Chadron, Nebraska. There, Andre honed his skills in forestry and bricklaying, laying the foundation for a life of diverse interests and talents. Andre's professional life was characterized by a variety of roles, most recently with Pro Staff in Alexandria, where he applied himself at local warehouses where he met many friends.
In 2005, Andre's life was forever changed when he met his beloved fiancée, Carrie Eblen, in Omaha, Nebraska. Their love story led Andre to Minnesota in 2009, where they made their home on a farm between Villard and Osakis. It was on this farm that Andre's love for the expansive country life flourished. He took great joy in helping with farm work, often donning his favorite overalls. Here with his Minnesota family he attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard.
Andre's interests were as varied as his talents. He was a man who embraced life with open arms, whether he was spending time with family, listening to music, or watching movies. His love for driving around with his dog, Draco, going for walks, and exploring new things was infectious. His curiosity about the world was insatiable, and he often indulged in cooking shows, sports, and the great outdoors. Andre's passion for football, BBQ, swimming, fishing, boating, and tubing was matched only by his love for people.
Known for his handsome appearance, Andre's kind words, smile, and positive motivation were his trademarks. Silly and energetic, he was always on the move, an amazing life partner and best friend to Carrie. He had a special gift for bringing the family together, living life in the moment, and lighting up any room he entered. Andre's ability to strike up a conversation with anyone revealed his old soul, and his one-of-a-kind nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Andre's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his fiancée, Carrie Eblen of Osakis; his sisters, Delores Ausbie and Dominick Ausbie; his brothers, Rachael Ausbie and Jonathan Tolbert; all of Carrie's family, who embraced him as their own; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Each person in Andre's life was cherished, and he was always grateful for the love and camaraderie they shared.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Eaves, and his sister, Tina Jenkins.
