Andre Coffey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seals Funeral Home - Fortville on Jul. 6, 2023.
Andre Coffey, 61, of McCordsville, Indiana passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28th, 2023. Andre was born December 16th, 1961, to Paul and Liselotte (Lisa) Coffey who met while Paul was serving the U.S. Army in Berlin, Germany and married in 1959. Andre was a 1981 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.
After graduating Andre followed in his father's footsteps and became a hardworking and skilled machinist. Working alongside both of his parents who together founded P&A Machine Company in 1978, built a business that started in the garage of the family's home to a substantial and thriving small business located in Indianapolis. In 2013 Andre became President of P&A Machine and continued to carry on his parents' legacy with the hard work and drive they instilled in him while also becoming well respected and valued in his trade for thinking outside of the box.
Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Coffey, grandchildren Aubrey and Quentin all of Fortville, Indiana. He is also survived by his brother Detlev Albrecht (Anne) of Berlin, Germany and his sister Jacqueline Tolbert (David) of Bargersville, Indiana; nieces Kiley Quinn (Dan) and Kasey Hadaway (Hunter). Andre will be greatly missed by aunts, uncles, extended family, and many friends. Andre is preceded in death by both his parents, best friend Phil Kohlbacher, longtime partner Julie Tuck-Middleton and their beloved dog Wags.
Andre was generous with his time and many talents. He served as Fire Chief for the McCordsville Volunteer Fire Department, built and raced go-karts on a team with friends, a member of the American Legion, played the guitar, enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and traveling but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A beloved father and 'Pappy' who will always hold a special place in everyone's hearts.
A celebration of Andre's life will take place Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at the Fortville American Legion Post 391 between 2-4 PM. All family and friends are welcome.
Memorial contributions in Andre's name may be directed to Fortville American Legion 391 located at 207 S. Merrill St. Fortville, IN 46040
