Andrea R. Gallegos (Daya), born on May 23, 1941, in Torreon, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico surrounded by her family. She was 84 years old when she went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Andrea’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family. A selfless mother and grandmother, she placed the needs and happiness of her loved ones above all else. Her love was both genuine and fierce—a constant source of strength and comfort to those around her. Known for her kind and cheerful spirit, Andrea’s bright and warming smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by three daughters and their families: Debra (Dennis) and her son Gathen and granddaughter Chantell and grandson Marcus (Marlene); Pamela (Ron McPherson) and her sons Ronald and David (Jenny), and grandchildren Olivia and Dylan; and Carla and her daughter Ciara. Andrea also leaves behind her seven siblings and their families: Julia Esparza, Joe Sanchez, Bessie Cordova, Ruth (Robert) Chavez, James Sanchez, Raymond (Jeanette) Sanchez, Tommy Sanchez, and Allan Sanchez (deceased). She was deeply loved by many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Andrea’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she held dear. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful presence will be profoundly missed. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 5:30 PM in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Final visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 8:30 AM with Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church 526 Atrisco Dr. SW. Interment will follow the mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 11:00 AM at South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center 2008 Larrazolo Rd. SW.
