Loving father, grandpa & great-grandpa
Mr. Andrea Guerrera, 96, of Waterbury, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Friday, December 26, 2025, at VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Brigida (Rinaldi) Guerrera.
Andrea was born on February 11, 1929, in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Antonia (gerrera) Guerrera. He proudly served in the Italian Army in the Bersaglieri Unit during World War II. He settled from Italy to Waterbury in 1954. He worked as a tool setter for The Cly-Del Manufacturing Company for forty-five years until his retirement in 1991. For many years Andrea helped out at his daughter and son-in-law's business "Caffé Italia", where he enjoyed playing cards, socialized and enjoying the company of all the loyal customers that frequented the coffee shop. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed making homemade wine and listening to opera especially LaTosca. He was a longtime member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club.
Andrea leaves to honor and cherish his memory: his daughter, Maria Guerrera of Wolcott; three grandsons, Antonio "Tony" Guerrera and his wife, Christina and Dino Guerrera and his wife, Iveta all of Wolcott and Nico Guerrera and his wife, Rachel of East Hampton, CT; five great-grandchildren that he loved and adored, Juliana Guerrera and her fiancé, Collin Hall, Giovanni Guerrera, Luciano Guerrera, Dario Guerrera and Marco Guerrera; his nieces and nephew, Donna, Karen and Bobby; and a host of friends and patrons. Besides his wife, Brigida, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Lupangelo "Lupo" Guerrera, who recently passed away on November 19, 2025, and his brother, Salvatore, and his wife, Violet Guerrera.
Arrangements: A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hour will be held Tuesday prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Members of the Pontelandolfo Community Club will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
