Andrea Mae Hahn, 90, of Mosinee, received her wings on December 20, 2023, when her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called her home.
Andrea was born at home on June 1st, 1933. She was a preemie at only 29-30 weeks and was named the “miracle baby” by the Drs. She grew up in Wittenberg and spent countless hours at their cabin on Shawano Lake. Andrea attended college in Green Bay.
She married Stanley Hahn on Sept. 19, 1953, they were married for 67 years before his passing in 2020. They lived in Tigerton where she worked for two Dr’s as their assistant for a few years. After living in CA they moved back to WI, and settled in Mosinee.
Andrea worked as an aid in the elementary school and also babysat the little loves of her life, the Prohaska kids, Amy Meyer, Gina Gustke and Chad Rogers. On many weekends she would tend bar at Kasey’s and Pinewood. Andrea took a job at Blossoms and Bows and managed the Mosinee shop, where people in the community loved coming to her for their flowers.
In her spare time she loved shooting pool, bowling and playing golf. She was in multiple leagues. They were charter members of Indianhead Golf Course where she was actually the first bartender. One of her favorite things to do was play bridge. She developed lifetime friends through her bridge club.
She also was a part of a Hallmark Ornament Club with treasured friends throughout the years, she was still active in the club until now. She loved rummage sales and Goodwill and was always on a mission to find “the deal” and bring someone a present. Her passion was collecting Christmas tree pins, snow babies, salt and pepper shakers, necklaces and many more. But giraffes were number one.
Her greatest passions were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. If they were involved in anything from school, to sports, to music, if she could be there she would be there, and when she couldn’t be there it made her feel terrible. She was so loving and giving but wasn’t afraid to say things that needed to be said. We miss her deeply.
For her 90th year she worked on a bucket list. She went on a tethered hot air balloon ride, went to the golf tournament at Sentry World and feed the giraffes a the zoo.
Survivors include her two daughters; Julie (Brad) Daniels, Cathy (Rick) Tobalsky; grandchildren, Eric (Miranda) Manley, Jayme (Anthony) Shirek, Matthew (Kristi) Tobalsky, Kersten (Evin) Buffalo, Kaylie (Alex Manchester) Daniels; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kade, Tessa, Carter, Cora, Evelyn, Bryce, Brooke, Chloe, Raegan, Brantley, James, Morgan, Kopin, and George. She was preceded in death by an infant son Steven, husband Stanley, a great-granddaughter Amber and a brother.
A loving tribute will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Sat. Dec. 30, 2023, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Andrea’s grandson Matt will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
