Andrea Katherine Miskiewicz

Andrea "Andee" Katherine Miskiewicz, age 71, partner of 37 years to Jeffrey Chestek, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, PA. Born in Weirton, WV, she was the only daughter of Eleanor and Albert Miskiewicz.
Andrea graduated from Madonna High School in Weirton WV, Class of 1972, and stayed in touch with her classmates and with her beloved teacher and mentor, Walter Wieloh, until he passed in 2009. Andrea was a four-year member of Madonna's national award-winning "Little Magazine", of which Mr. Wieloh was the founder and faculty advisor, and some of Andrea's poetry and artwork appeared in the publication's pages during her time there and as an alumnus. She also was a member of the school's drama club and displayed her acting and artistic talents in various productions.
After graduation, she moved to Philadelphia to attend the Philadelphia College of Art as a
film/photography major. She loved working as a bartender and loved interacting with the
limitless array of patrons and their interests (that's where she also met Jeffrey), she managed the studios at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, worked as a customer service representative for a travel wholesaler, moved to Phoenixville and trained as a 911 operator, before finally retiring from Kimberton Whole Foods in 2024 from the Accounting department.
Andee loved to travel and swim, and loved photography, she painted and wrote poetry, she was an advocate for dog rescues, and shared her life with 3 wonderful dogs, Agamemnon, Hachi, and Murphy.
For 19 years while living in Phoenixville she was a central driving force in the design, planning, and execution of the Blobfest events, which she helped grow into a nationally-renown celebration of the movie "The Blob" (and of 50's sci-fi movies in general). She sculpted, commissioned the casting of, and installed the "rub me for luck" bronze plaque memorializing The Blob in the same balcony of the Colonial Theater where the movie was filmed.
Andee was wise, understanding, and compassionate, and she always knew what to say to help you feel better and to see your problems as conquerable. She had a quick mind, a sharp wit, and an infectious laugh. She loved and was loved by so many, and she will be missed more than she would ever have imagined.
Andrea is survived by her partner Jeffrey Chestek, her dog Murphy, cousins Lee, Louise, and Jan, Jean Gilles, and the so, so many friends who's lives she has forever touched. She was preceded in death by her parents Eleanor and Albert, and her dogs Agamemnon and Hachi are waiting for her across the rainbow bridge.
Andee was proud to be a organ/tissue donor and to give the gift of hope to people she will never even know. We thank the Gift of Life organization for their kindness and the work that they do.
