Andrea Legard Skates White

Andrea Legard Skates White, 64, of Hernando, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. Andrea was born in Greenville, Mississippi on January 18, 1961 and grew up in Avon, Mississippi. She spent the majority of her life in Memphis and Desoto County.
She worked as a faux artist and interior designer, eventually shifting her focus to works on canvas. Beyond her professional work, she was a founding member and past president of the Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County and a former member of the Junior League of Memphis.
Andrea is survived by her husband, Barry White, and her son, Tyler White, both of Hernando, MS. She is also survived by her siblings: Bill Skates (Linda) of Greenville, Mississippi; Stephanie Warren (Doug) of Madison, Mississippi; and Celeste Milbrand (Robbie) of Cleveland, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Judge Cornelius Skates and Harriette Montgomery Gildart Skates, both of Avon, MS.
Andrea will be remembered for her artistic spirit, and for her love for her husband and son.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday July 29, 2025 at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the start of the service. A private graveside service will follow the funeral service.
