Andreas Petrou

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andreas Petrou, who departed this life peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by his devoted family at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. Born in the village of Oroklini, Cyprus, Andreas was the beloved son of Florentzou and Petros Petrou, and stepson of Christina Petrou. A proud husband, he shared a beautiful life with his late wife, Kyriacou Petrou, until her passing in 2000.

Andreas retired at the age of 53 from Resistoflex in Roseland, NJ, allowing him to spend cherished years traveling to and from Cyprus with his wife and family. Known affectionately as Pappou Makris-"The Man, The Myth, The Legend"-he was admired for his warmth, wisdom, and larger-than-life spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was a devoted brother to Vassos (Sophia), the late Theodosis (Maria), Flora (the late George), and Anastasia (Evangelos). As a father, Andreas embodied love, integrity, and dedication, instilling lasting values in his children: Teddy (Stalo), Peter (Mareza), Florio (Youlla), and Lenny (Heather).

His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren-Andreas (Alexandra), Andrea and husband (Matthew), Andreas, Kara, Lauren (Chris), Andrew, Jacqueline, Demetri, and Kyriacos-and his beloved great-grandchildren, Teddy, Constantino, Maria, and Melina.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, NJ. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan, NJ.
