Karl Andreas Zimmermann, known as Andreas, beloved father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away in Spring, Texas, on November 10, 2025. "Andi", "Plaid," or "Zimi", as some of us knew him, was a true jack-of-all-trades. Like his many names, he had many different job titles (teacher, project manager, linguistics expert, translator, and stage performer, to name a few). He was even a citizen of both the United States of America and his motherland, Switzerland, where he was born on June 4, 1959. Andreas is survived by the following: his wife, Linda Gonzales Salinas; his daughter, Dr. Olivia Nicole Zimmermann and husband Joseph Scott Haller, his son Dr. Christopher Joseph Zimmermann and wife Dr. Katherine Marie Shaum and their 3 children, Evelyn Kate, Nolan Christopher, Ethan Joseph, his son Charles Vincent Zimmermann and wife Melanie Delia (née Jaramillo), FNP-C, and daughter Anna Teresa Zimmermann and husband William Mack III, his stepchildren, Jonathan Michael Downing and daughter Ty'iana Monroe Lane, and Stefany Rose Salinas Ramos and husband Angel Ramos; his mother, Anita Zimmermann-Bodmer; and his siblings, Georg Hans Zimmermann and wife Yvonne (née Kastner), and their 2 children, Regula Anna Zimmermann-Steinhauser and her 2 children and 2 grandchildren, and Barbara Gertud Zimmermann and her 4 children. Andreas was also a parent to many pets over the years, whether they were brought into his house knowingly or not. He leaves behind two loyal dogs, Gypsy and Piper, and the family cat, Fearless. He is preceded in death by his father, Hans Zimmermann, and his first wife, Mary Kate Zimmermann (née Harrison). Andreas understood the duality of the human condition, visible in his enduring curiosity and sardonic humor. He valued rationale and intelligence as much as he did heart and intuition. His wisdom was evidence of an adventurous, expansive, and bountiful life, but he still understood the absurd peace that comes with knowing there is so much we do not yet know. This peace came with a mischievous, wry smile, a twinkle in his eye, then, of course, the words "Never a Dull Moment," always spoken with the faintest hint of a Swiss-German accent, and always followed with a hearty laugh.
