My family and I lived down the hill from AJ when he lived in Grandview, Iowa. When my children met him they were instant AJ fans. We went to the Snow Bowl to watch him ride. He signed pictures and gave the kids T shirts. My son Wyatt would ride up the hill on his 4wheeler and visit AJ on a daily basis. They welded several things together using horseshoes. I'm not really sure what they talked about, but I can tell you AJ made a big impact on Wyatt and the man he has become today. He took the time out of his schedule to spent it with a 12 year old kid. That's just the kind of person he was. He was a great father and friend. We will all miss him very much. The Cook Family(Robert, Tonya, Tiffany, and Wyatt).

I had AJ in class his senior year at ISU. I always enjoyed his positive attitude and contributions. I also remember the surprise when he came to class with a cast after getting hurt on a bull. I had no idea before that this slender, mild-mannered young man rode bulls for the fun of it. I am sorry for your loss. My life is richer having having such a great young man in my class.
