Andrew "Andy" Allen Bosworth, age 53, of Riverdale, GA died with family by his side, on July 14, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice House in Griffin, GA after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, MI on Palm Sunday, April 4, 1971. Andrew grew up in
Grand Ledge, MI and graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1989. He loved music, took piano lessons, played clarinet in the school orchestra and saxophone in the marching band. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers. He was baptized and confirmed with Grand Ledge First
Congregational Church. He loved living in Grand Ledge because of freedom to explore
and times with extended family. He also enjoyed times on the Bosworth farm in
Sunfield. There were many summer adventures with family of traveling, camping,
canoeing, backpacking, and time spent on the beaches of Lake Michigan and Lake
Superior. He loved growing up with his beagle Daisy Mae and then with his cat
Sebastian. He earned his associate degree from Lansing Community College and his
bachelor's degree from Sienna Heights University. He always had a strong work ethic
which went along with his passion for driving. He worked for Yellow Cab in Lansing,
drove limo, delivered pizza and flowers. He lived in Las Vegas for a few years and
worked in customer services and delivery. After attaining his CDL he drove across the
country as a contract expeditor. His companions on the road were his two chihuahuas
Cloe and Mia. He bought a mobile home in Georgia.
His battle with cancer began in spring 2022 and he underwent surgeries, chemo,
radiation and other treatment as the cancer metastasized. He hoped to live but
treatment was no longer an option as infections and sepsis occurred in late June 2024.
There was no cure. He was transferred to Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA and died on July 14, 2024 with family by his side.
Andrew fought through many challenges and hoped to have more life. We always
thought his cause of death would occur from his harrowing accidents on the road. We
were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Andrew grew closer in his faith during the
past few years and knew his name was written in the Book of Life because he trusted Christ and his salvation. He was assured that we will meet again, and that he would be
greeted into Paradise by angels and family who had arrived before him.
Family gatherings and family memories were important to Andrew, and he accumulated many of his childhood possessions and other memorabilia.
He is survived by his parents Allen Bosworth, Margery Briggs and Michael Judd, his
aunt Julie (James) Vedder, and several cousins in MI, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He was
predeceased by his grandparents: Wesley and Waneta Bosworth, Ruth and LRoy
Briggs, and Dorothy and James Judd.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024, 3:00 PM at the Sunfield United Methodist Church, 227 Logan Street, Sunfield, Michigan 48890. Visitation will be Sunday at the church from 2:30 PM until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Mulliken.
