Andrew Candelora

Andrew Candelora, formerly of Elizabeth Ann Drive in New Haven, died January 27, 2009 in Branford Hills. He was the husband of the late Josephine Amuro Candelora. Andrew was born in New Haven January 30, 1922 a son of the late Salvatore and Carmelina Amarone Candelora and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a quality control inspector for many years at United Nuclear and also worked in the same capacity at Sikorsky Aircraft. Andrew is the father of Joyce Sanseverino and her husband Mel and Andrew M. (Drew) Candelora. Brother of the late Lucy Alfieri, Antoinette Sonazzaro, Phyllis , Biagio, John, Phillip, Pasquale and Salvatore Candelora and Nick Canalori. Grandfather of Melissa and her husband Coco, Christopher, Alexandra, Andrea and Stephanie. He was predeceased by his dear friend Alfonsina "Ginger" Gugliemi. The family wishes to thank the staff of Branford Hills Health Care for all their care and support. Relatives and friends may call THURSDAY from 4-8pm at the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11 Wooster Pl. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church Friday at 10am.
