Andrew Caporrella

Andrew Caporrella, born September 30, 1948 in Boston, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. Raised in Hyde Park and a resident of Bellingham for the past 26 years, Andrew's roots were deep and his heart wide-reaching. He was the beloved son of Anthony and Gilda (Alimenti) Caporrella, to whom he was endlessly devoted and who predeceased him.

Andrew was a loving husband, father, brother, and an amazing and involved grandfather and great grandfather whose presence brought immeasurable joy to his family. He delighted in nurturing strong family bonds, and his legacy lives on in every generation he cherished.

A member and active contributor to AMVETS, Andrew generously donated his time and resources to supporting veterans overseas, steadfastly ensuring those who served were never forgotten.

Andrew's dynamic and engaging personality made him an extraordinary salesperson-a quality that fueled a remarkable career spanning over 50 years in the Packaging and Paper industry. He brought his expertise and charm to Allied Container, Creative Packaging, and Romanow Container Corporation, building lasting relationships and a reputation for excellence.

His passion for antique car shows was renowned; he took great pride in showcasing his cherished 1964 Thunderbird and 1968 Corvette, always eager to share his love of classic cars with family and fellow enthusiasts.

Fun-loving and sociable, Andrew brightened every room he entered. He was happiest when dancing, traveling, or simply creating joyful memories with those around him. His warmth, generosity, and zest for life touched all who knew him.

Andrew faced Parkinson's disease and Lewy Body dementia with immense courage and unwavering spirit. Through his resilience and compassion, he inspired all who witnessed his journey.

Andrew Caporrella will be remembered for his loving dedication to family, tireless support of veterans, lifelong passion for his work and hobbies, and the vibrant joy he brought into the lives of so many.

In addition to his wife AnneMarie (Polo) Caporrella he is survived by his children, Tammy Akusis and her husband Neil of Abington, Christine Akusis and her husband Paul of Plympton, Dorothy Caporrella of North Attleboro, and Anthony Caporrella and his wife Melissa of Concord, New Hampshire. And the late Angela Mari and her husband the late Joseph Mari. Stepchildren, Stephen Lacock of Chatham, Christina Madeira and her husband Armando of Weymouth, Ron Polo and his wife Terri of Falmouth.

He is also survived by his sister Dolores DeLuca and her husband Thomas of Foxboro and was the brother of the late Charles P. Caporrella.

Andy is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Mari, Kaitlyn Mari, Alicia Mari, Paul Noble, Michael Akusis, Alicia Swatman, Ashleigh Akusis, Frederick Akusis, Layla Keller and Ava Penney. David Caporrella, Jenna Caporrella, Aiden Walls and Lorelai Walls. Step grandchildren, Kimbery Madeira, Diane Madeira, Felicia Edwards, Courtney Polo, Brittany Madeira, Melanie Tashjian, Natasha Silvestro, Alexis Lacock, Abigail Lacock, Nichole Madeira, Kristen Madeira and 27 great grandchildren.

He was the former husband of Jackie Tulip of North Carolina and Jean Bernard of Maine.

His calling hours will be Monday, February 16th from 4-7pm in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 17th at 9am in St. Blaise Catholic Church 1158 S. Main Street, Bellingham. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
