Barry Buchinski, 70, born on February 16, 1956 in Pittsfield, MA, passed away peacefully at his residence in Boxborough, MA.

Barry is survived by his daughter, Alison K. Villa, son-in-law Jonathan M. Villa and granddaughter Hazel M. Villa, and his former wife of 44 years, Gwen A. Kimple. He also leaves behind his father, Adolph J. Buchinski, brothers Brian and wife Lisa, Bruce and wife Doreen, former mother-in-law Joan Kimple, brother-in-law Scott Kimple and wife Kim, his nieces and nephews and their children.

He was predeceased by his son Adam J. Buchinski (2020), father-in-law Lawrence R. Kimple, Jr. (2021) and mother Mary Ann Buchinski (2022).

Barry graduated from Taconic High School, Pittsfield in 1974 and furthered his education at Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1979.

After college, Barry began his career in Boston, and for the past 30 years he owned Blackstone Block Architects, Inc. He loved practicing architecture and held licenses in many of the Northeastern states, specializing in the restoration and adaptive re-use of historic structures. In addition, he and his firm had a wide range of expertise, with other projects that included, police stations, colleges and universities, government agencies, commercial, retail, and residential housing.

Although he leaves a legacy of diverse structures as his life's work, his proudest accomplishments were the buildings and spaces he designed for affordable housing and people with disabilities, knowing that he made a difference in the lives of its residents and the community. Barry will forever be revered by his clients and colleagues as a dedicated professional, whose approachability and attention to detail built his reputation as a successful business owner.

In 1987, Barry moved to Bolton, MA where he raised his family and resided until 2023. Over the years, he utilized his many talents as a "master of all trades," tackling home renovations and mechanical repairs with ease. His hobbies included collecting and maintaining antique model trains, attending car shows and cruising in his beloved, award-winning and fully restored 1969 Pontiac GTO.

There will be no services at this time.
