He graduated from Columbus North High School in 1984 and later served in the United States Army, proudly serving his country. He was known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and warm sense of humor. Andy enjoyed playing cards, lending a hand on the family farm, and spending time with his beloved cats, who brought him great comfort and joy. He had a strong interest in U.S. history, particularly the Civil War and aviation. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers. Andrew is survived by his mother, Pegi (John) Chapple Owens; his sisters, Amy Warner, Jennifer (Gary) Milan, and Theresa (John) Cox; his nieces, Kayleigh (Travis) Shirley, Hannah Milan, Larissa (Matt) Hicks, Kelsey Pearson, Madison Cox, and Maya Cox; his nephew, John Cox III; and his great-niece, Henley Milan. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip A. Chapple. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waymansville, Indiana. Family visitation will be held from 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by open visitation from 2:00–3:00 p.m. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Sorensen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society, in honor of Andrew's love for animals and family.
