Andrew James "Andy" Coulter, 58, of Adel, Iowa, formerly of Linden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines following a long battle with health issues.
Andy was born on March 11, 1967, and was the only child of the late James "Jim" Coulter and Glesna Godwin Coulter. He was raised in Linden, Iowa, where he lived for 57 years and developed a lifelong love for the area. He was a 1985 graduate of Panora-Linden High School where he played basketball. He loved farming and had a passion for John Deere tractors.
On October 13, 2012, Andy was united in marriage with Melissa Cahail. Together, they had one son, Jonathan Coulter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Glesna Coulter, and his birth parents, Richard and Linda Frye Balsley. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lili M. Balsley Collins.
Andy is survived by his wife, Melissa Coulter, and his son, Jonathan Coulter, both of Madison, Wisconsin, A Sister Roxy Rosenau of Fort Dodge,Iowa, Many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and classmates and best friends, Lenerd Kerr, Doyce Glenn and John Wasson. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Mia who was always his side.
In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Online condolences can be sent to the family via the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory website.
