Publish in a newspaper

Jerry King Coulter, 76, of Lewistown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born in Granville, he was the son of the late Harry King Coulter and Annabel (Miller) Coulter. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Dunmire Coulter, with whom he shared more than 51 years of marriage, having wed in October 1974. He is also survived by his daughter, Heather Larson, and her husband, David, of Broomfield, CO, and his son, Jerod King Coulter, and his wife, Jennifer, of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Jerry dearly loved his role as "Pap," and nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his five grandchildren. Annabel, Tyler, and Jack Larson, along with Noah and Hoyt Coulter, were always at the center of his heart. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Bittle, and her husband, James, of Mechanicsburg. A 1967 graduate of Lewistown-Granville High School, Jerry studied in the vocational-technical electrical program. He went on to enlist in the United States Army Signal Corps, serving at Fort Dix and later in Okinawa, Japan, where he maintained satellite communications essential to Vietnam operations in 1972. Following his return home, Jerry began his career with Bell Telephone as an installation technician. He remained dedicated to the company through its transitions and retired after more than 30 years of service as a splicer technician specializing in fiber optics for Verizon Jerry was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge #663 and served in numerous roles over a ten-year span. His time as Exalted Ruler in 1976 was notably marked by hosting visits from both the state and National Grand Exalted Rulers in the same year. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially cherished hunting with his son for deer and small game, as well as pheasant hunting alongside his son and his bird dog. For 42 consecutive years, he took part in the traditional spring trout fishing and camping trip with family to Kettle Creek State Park. Summers were fondly spent camping in Wildwood, New Jersey, creating many treasured memories that lasted a lifetime. After retirement, Jerry took up the hobbies of reloading and trapshooting, and became a lifetime member of the NRA, the Mifflin County Sportsmen's Club, and the Lewistown Pistol Club. He enjoyed traveling and was blessed to visit Alaska and Yellowstone twice, along with many other National Parks throughout the country. Jerry was a devoted member of Lewistown Alliance Church. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Pastor John Looney officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown PA 17044. Online condolences can be offered to the family at www.kingbarrfuneralhome.com
