Andrew Zane DeLaughter

Andrew Zane DeLaughter, loving son and brother, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the age of 14.

The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 at the First Baptist Church, McAlester, Oklahoma with Pastor Lance McAfee officiating.

The committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 at Mt. View Cemetery, Glendale, Oklahoma. Andrew will be laid to rest next to his beloved father, Dr. Harold Zane DeLaughter.

Pallbearers will be Andrew's friends: Kayden James, Travis Harvey, Kord Busby, Kash Miller, Kyrie McKendrick, Gannon Smedley, Knox Mitchell, Bentley Heskett, Cason Williamson, and Jason Pope.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew's McAlester Junior High 8th Grade Football Coaches: Troy Meadows, Michael Colbert, Ethan Hearod, Kendall Green, Jeremy Pousby, and Austin Ross.

Andrew was born on March 25, 2011, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Dr. Harold Zane DeLaughter and Janet (Elder) DeLaughter. From the moment he entered the world, Andrew was deeply loved and brought joy to those around him. Andrew was the most driven, focused, and dedicated young man. He had big goals and dreams for his life. He was a natural athlete and fell in love with football, which he excelled in. Andrew lived life fully and tackled everything he did with a dedication most people are unable to achieve. He was so mature for his age. He was kind and respectful, a leader, and always happy to see the people he knew and loved. He had a big hug and a hand shake for everyone. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. He read his Bible almost daily. He loved to go to church. Andrew loved children and children were drawn to him. One of Andrew's favorite things to do in his free time was to spend time with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harold Zane DeLaughter; his grandparents, Carl and Helen Good, August DeLaughter, and Gene and Thirl Elder; his cousins, James Elder and Rory Stricklin; and his uncle, Jimmy Elder, all of whom welcomed him with open arms.

Those left to cherish Andrew's precious memory include his devoted mother, Janet (Elder) DeLaughter; his beloved sisters, Lindsay, Sarah, and Rebecca DeLaughter, who shared in his life, laughter, and dreams. He is also lovingly remembered by his many uncles and aunts: Joe DeLaughter and wife, Keeley; Enoch Good and wife, Steph; David Good and wife, Ana; Randy DeLaughter; Traci Lacek and husband, Richard; Justin Good; Bonnie Friend and husband, Gary; Maryann Stricklin and husband, Randy; Retha Luce and husband, Carl; Paul Elder and wife, Tanya; Lisa Elder; and David Elder and wife, Jodi; along with his cousin, Justin Elder and wife, Brittney, and numerous other cousins who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Andrew's life was also shaped by the friendships and guidance he treasured, his best friends, Bentley Heskett, Kyrie McKendrick, Kord Busby, and Jason Pope. He looked up to the senior football players; James Barr and Creed Tribbey, and was guided by caring mentors, Jerry Love and Jason Rodriguez.

Andrew will be remembered for the light he brought into every room and the love he gave so freely, leaving an imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.
