Andrew Diggle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Girdner Funeral Chapel - Yreka from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16, 2026.
Andrew Diggle passed away at his home in Yreka surrounded by family on January 10, 2026 at the age of 52. He was born on August 26, 1973 in Medford, Oregon to Albert and Paula Diggle. He was the middle of three children.

Andrew grew up in Montague with his two brothers, Matt and Sam. Life was filled with family, love and playing sports. He was extremely competitive and had no quit in him. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, drawing, painting and wood carving.

Andrew attended Yreka High School and graduated in 1991. After high school, he worked at Hi Ridge Lumber company. Andrew served his country in the United States Army from 1995 to 1999. He was a sergeant and worked as an electrician on Apache helicopters until he was medically discharged due to an injury to his right arm. After his discharge, he worked at Boise Cascade as a forklift driver.

In 2005, after 9/11, he joined the Boise National Guard, and was deployed back to the United States Army to help support the war on terrorism in Afghanistan. Andrew was honored to be part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

While on leave, he married the love of his life, Kelly. He and Kelly grew up together, attending Montague Elementary, and they graduated from Yreka High School together. Andrew instantly had his heart stolen by Kelly's 2 year old daughter, Julia. Julia thought of him as one of her best friends and nicknamed him Dewey. In 2007, he became a proud dad to his son, Austin. He was his greatest accomplishment. They had an unbreakable bond that defines true love for generations. Andrew was always with Austin, from guiding his first steps and cheering every success to molding and teaching him, to ensure his lessons and love remain in his heart forever. Andrew was always so much fun to be around, making everyone laugh. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Kelly Diggle; step-daughter Julia Adams; son Austin Diggle; father and mother Albert and Paula Diggle; step-mother-in-law Donna Meyer; brothers Matt Diggle (Robin) and Sam Diggle (Leah); sisters-in-law Yvonne Amaral (Terry) and Misty Meyer (Nate); nephews Chance Diggle (Roxy), Casey Diggle (McKenzie), Colton Diggle, Sean Berry, Kevin Berry (Kassandra), Brenden Berry, CJ Pewitt and Drew Pewitt; nieces Trinity Diggle, Sadie Diggle, Amber Chaffin (Chaz) and Kyra Nash (Chandler); great nephews and great nieces Charlotte and Cruz Chaffin, Ellie and Easton Nash, Jack Diggle and Donavan Berry. Andrew was very close to many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dr. Eric Meyer and mother-in-law, Julie Van Dyke.
