Andrew Guy Doerrer, 64
Andrew Guy Doerrer, 64 of Ashland passed away early Sunday morning, December 11, 2022 in his home with his family by his side.
He was born on March 30, 1958 in Ashland the son of the late Robert Rex and Jeanne Arlene (nee Scott) Doerrer.
Andy graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1976. He went on to attend the Ohio State University.
He married the former Colleen Marie McGuinness on May 26, 1978.
Andy owned and operated Welsh Plumbing for more than 40 years prior to his retirement in 2020.
During his entire life, Andy was a fan of music. He was an accomplished guitarist, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and watching both the browns and buckeyes. Most of all becoming a grandfather was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Colleen Doerrer of Ashland; two daughters, Nichole Marie (Kevin) Hosty of Columbus and Megan Lynne (Jake) Kaufman of Medina; four grandchildren, Morgan, Brogan, Greg, and Will; one sister, Pam (Richard) Gaskill of New Burn, North Carolina; and two brothers, Robert Doerrer of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Joseph Doerrer of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Andy is preceded in death by one brother, Steve Doerrer.
A Celebration of Andy's life will be held, Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Legacy Room of the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Jennifer Whitmore presiding. Friends may call two hours prior to the time of the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1021 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
