Andrew Dominik Obituary

Published by Koepsell-Murray Funeral & Cremation Services, Beaver Dam on Dec. 24, 2019.
Andy J. Dominik, age 59, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at UW-Madison. He did not lose his battle with Parkinson's and Leukemia. As Andy would say…it was a draw. Andrew John Dominik was born on May 5, 1960 in Duluth, Minnesota to John and Jean (Bloom) Dominik. He grew up in Hayward and later moved to Menomonie, where he graduated high school. After high school he attended UWSP for a short period and decided to serve his country instead. Andy proudly served in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years as Chief Petty Officer. He worked at Walmart Distribution Center for 26 years as the Operations Manager, which is where he met his future bride. On August 16, 2003, Andy married his best friend and love of his life, Jennifer Miller. Andy used to really enjoy hunting and fishing, like any other man in Wisconsin. After the birth of his daughters, his time with them took precedence. He was the greatest provider to his family. After his diagnosis with Parkinson's, he became the greatest househusband. Life was never work to Andy. He always had fun, showed unconditional love, was the most caring friend, and made people laugh. Even while he was sick, his sarcasm and jokes constantly made his health providers laugh. He joined Rock Steady Boxing through Martial Arts American as therapy for his Parkinson's, and really enjoyed it. Those he met through the organization have become a second family to him. Through all the twists and turns in Andy's life, he never lost sight of his faith. Let that comfort you in knowing that he is okay and we can see him again. Andy is survived by his wife, Jennifer Dominik of Beaver Dam; children, Cassandra (Luis) Dominik of Bloomer, Alexandra (Zach) Dominik of Menomonie, Arika and Rachel Dominik, both at home in Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Audri, Isabel, Jayson and Lorenzo; sisters, Mary Dominik of Menomonie, Barbara (Ron) Repaal of Galesville, and Shelley (Dan) Jacobson of Menomonie; parents-in-law, Ralph and Gisele Miller of Altoona; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick Miller of Altoona, and Jessica (Jesse) Schneider of Oakdale, MN; nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and so many friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, John Dominik; mother, Jean Bol; and stepfather, Laurney Bol.

Love and Prayers to the family. Andy and I served in the Navy together, only at different times. We spoke about our time often and Andy (Chief) shared so many amazing stories with me. His knowledge of older military movies was amazing. We shared many quotes from M*A*S*H as well. The line that Andy did not lose his battle it was a draw is so perfect. God Bless you sir thank you for your service. I am thankful and appreciative of the time we got to spend together.
