Andrew Domire Obituary

Andrew Domire

1988-2025

Walden,CO-Salt Lake City, UT - Andrew (Andy) Jon Domire passed away January 08, 2025. Andy was born on January 29, 1988 in Salt Lake City to Brent R. Domire and Penny J. Domire (Bates). He graduated from Skyline High School in Millcreek, Utah and was most recently pursuing his passion for the outdoors in Walden, Colorado.

Andy was a special soul with an enormous heart, terrific sense of humor, and positive can-do attitude. Above all - Andy loved his family. Some of his most cherished experiences were trips to the family cabin filled with as many people as could occupy a small log cabin. He had many friends from all walks of life and spent most of his Sunday afternoons on the phone making calls to catch up and express how much he cared for them.

As a skilled outdoorsman, Andy had a passion for snowboarding, fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping - anything outdoors was of interest to him. He could always be found on such an adventure with his little dog "Willis" right by his side.

Professionally, Andy adapted in many trades including welding, homebuilding, and crane and rigging. If it took work with one's hands, Andy was the man for the job and he quickly excelled in all of his endeavors.

A special thank you afforded to the townspeople of Walden, Colorado as well as numerous friends for their support offered to Andy and his family during this trying time.

Andy is survived by his father Brent R. Domire of Kearns, UT; brother Kyle H. Domire (Kaylee and nieces Penny, Isla, and Rosie) of Millcreek, UT; cousin Matthew J. Gardner (Maha and niece Amelia and nephew Zach) of Chicago, IL; cousin Katie P. Gardner (Chris Morgan and nephews Cannon and Cooper) of Millcreek, UT. He was preceded in death by his mother Penny J. Rawling, uncle Robert J. Gardner, and aunt Lori B. Gardner of Salt Lake City, UT.

A memorial will be held on Sunday, February 16th at 5:00 p.m. at Red Butte Garden's Orangerie.

Donations in his honor can be made to the Mountain Family Center serving families with hunger, medical needs, and housing programs throughout northern Colorado.

I´ll always remember the day Andy rolled up to my high school graduation on his bike. It was such a classic Andy thing to do-showing up in his own way, with a presence that was impossible to miss. He was like a big brother to me in some ways, always ready with advice, whether I wanted to hear it or not.

Though we weren´t incredibly close, I always appreciated his perspective and the moments we shared. Even after we fell out of touch over the years, he sent me a kind message about how much he enjoyed seeing my travels. That small gesture reminded me of the connection we had, and it´s something I´ll always hold onto.
