Andrew Galvez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castillo Funeral Home on Sep. 14, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Andrew (Andy) Galvez went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 6, 2025, at the age of 59. Andrew was born on April 19, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife Karen Galvez, children Andrew, Dorothy, Laura (Josh), Sarah, and Daniel (Courtney), sisters and brothers-in-law JoAnn (Damian), MaryJane (Ben), RosaLinda (Tony), Dolores (Henry), and Veronica (Seth), 5 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Andrew passed away unexpectedly, leaving his family, friends, and co-workers heartbroken and deeply saddened. As a family of faith, we find comfort in knowing Andrew is in God's presence and reunited with his parents Andres and Janie Galvez.

Andrew worked as a painter for over 35 years and was a foreman at J.E. Travis Painting Inc. for the past 27 years. He contributed to many painting projects and stamped the entirety of Texas with his beautiful work. Andrew's gift of painting can be seen in various places in San Antonio such as the Alamodome, Fiesta Texas, Our Lady of the Lake University, Public Schools, and Hospitals. He was a hard worker and dedicated employee with admirable work ethics and integrity.

Andrew was an amazing husband, a nurturing father and grandfather. An honorable son, a caring brother and supportive uncle. He was a loving family man with traditional values, deep commitments, a protector who always ensured his family's safety and well-being.

Andrew was a mentor and father-figure to many. His words of wisdom made an impact in so many peoples' lives by offering guidance, encouragement and inspiring personal change. Andrew was generous, always willing to help anyone without hesitation; never expecting anything in return.

Andrew was a simple man with a humble heart. He enjoyed family gatherings, home cook meals, and meaningful talks. His humorous stories always had everyone laughing. Andrew was a storyteller, his conversations were so captivating; with the perfect choice of words, he kept you engaged but his delivery was always to make everyone feel included.

Andrew lived his parent's legacy of being dedicated to God, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through biblical truths. He believed in the power of prayer and prayed with so much fervor that it would lead a room full of people to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Andrew will always be remembered as a man of great faith.

May the memories of Andrew bring peace and joy to those who had the honor of knowing and loving him.

Visitation to celebrate Andrew's life will be held on Thursday September 18, 2025 at Castillo Funeral Home 520 N. General Mc Mullen Dr. SATX 78228 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be recited at 6 p.m.
